Thailand was nothing short of amazing. The best part of the trip was being able to get up close and personal with some beautiful creatures. We only had two days in Chiang Mai so we had to make the best of it. Part of our time there took us to Tiger Kingdom where we had a once in a lifetime chance to interact with tigers of various sizes. Visiting Tiger Kingdom was definitely one of the trip highlights. This along with visiting an elephant sanctuary.
The tigers are handled with the utmost respect and care (they are not sedated and the facility was clean). You can take your pick from posing with the big cats all the way down to bottle feeding the babies. The handlers join you in the cage and it’s important to note that they do not force the cats to pose for pictures. If the tigers start walking around while you are trying to get your shot- tough luck. Luckily, this tiger cooperated after stretching its legs a bit and we got some great shots.

The handlers were nice enough to take pictures for us on our phone but they do offer photography for a small fee. They took amazing shots. Alternatively, you can pay to enter Tiger Kingdom and not go into the tiger enclosures. Overall, it was an amazing experience and a must-visit on any trip to Chiang Mai. There is also a Tiger Kingom in Phuket as well.
Please Note*** I firmly believe in respecting/protecting animals and would not visit places that abuse animals. I think that Tiger Kingdom in Chiang Mai does a great job at the upkeep of these beautiful animals.
