It’s been a while, and I’m back like I never left! My hair has been incredibly dry as of late and needs some T.L.C. I have some damage (straight ends and knots) that I’m trying to mend back to health.
I decided to try the Max Hydration Method on my hair to see if it’s worth the hype. I’m hoping to get some well-needed moisture and curl definition. The Max Hydration Method consists of two parts. Part 1 is the Cherry Lola Treatment to help your hair absorb moisture. Part 2 is an Aztec Bentonite clay mask which is supposed to cleanse, condition, and moisturize your strands.
You’re supposed to do this every day for a week but I’m entirely too lazy for that. So I’ll probably do this treatment just once or twice and add it to my monthly regimen if I get good results. With no further ado, let’s jump into the first step of this treatment.
Step 1: Cherry Lola Treatment
By: Cherry Lola
I found all of these ingredients at my local Meijers. So you could source the items locally or grab the majority of them from Amazon by using the links below:
Raw Honey:
Liquid Aminos:
Unsulfered Molasses:
Apple Cider Vinegar:
Baking Soda:
Cherry Lola Treatment Instructions:
1. Combine all of the ingredients and mix until you get a smoothie-ish consistency.
2. Apply to hair from root to tip and cover your hair with a shower cap from 45 minutes to an hour.
**Bonus points for recycling and using a grocery bag instead of a plastic shower cap like I did here (lol).**
3. Rinse well
Cherry Lola Treatment Review
Thoughts after this treatment:
I think I made it wrong. The avocado was a little chunky and this was really hard to wash out (the chunks). I don’t think it did anything spectacular for my hair in terms of my curls, but I will try it again using a blender instead of a hand mixer. My hair felt really soft and moisturized after I washed my hair and did the next step of the treatment, the Bentonite Clay mask.

I’d love to hear from you!

Thank you so much for giving this a try for all us naturalistas! One of the reasons I’m wary of DIYs is because I KNOW I would mess it up, and then I’d regret spending all that time and ingredients in the first place!
